Disciples

John 15:8-9 – This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.

John 8:31 – To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.

John 17:22-23 – I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Application:

• ·         The Father is glorified in the work of the Son, and He is also glorified in the fruit-bearing of disciples.
• ·         There are two indwellings here: that of the Son in believers and that of the Father in the Son.
• ·         It is because the latter is a reality that the former can take place.
