The Lord Establishes Their Steps

Proverbs 16:4,7-9 – The Lord works out everything to its proper end—even the wicked for a day of disaster…When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them. Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice. In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

Romans 12:18 – If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Ecclesiastes 4:6 – Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.

Jeremiah 10:23 – Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.

Application:

• ·         Jesus pronounced a blessing on peacemakers, and believers are to cultivate peace with everyone to the extent that such peace depends on them.
• ·         God is sovereign in every life and in all of history.
• ·         God displays His power even through the wicked, and all evil will be judged.
• ·         Only the Lord can direct people’s steps.
