Proverbs 20:25-27 – It is a trap to dedicate something rashly
and only later to consider one’s vows. A wise king winnows out
the wicked; he drives the threshing wheel over them. The
human spirit is the lamp of the Lord
that sheds light on
one’s inmost being.
Ecclesiastes
5:4 – When you make a vow to God, do
not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill
your vow.
Judges 11:35 – When he saw her,
he tore his clothes and cried, “Oh no, my daughter! You
have brought me down and I am devastated. I have made a vow to the Lord that I cannot break.”
Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Proverbs 27:19 – As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the
heart.
