Deuteronomy 6:17-20 –
Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees
he has given you. Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over
the good land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors, thrusting out all your
enemies before you, as the Lord said. In the future, when your son
asks you, “What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws
the Lord our God has commanded you?”
Leviticus
26:3-4 – “‘If you
follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you
rain in its season, and the ground will yield
its crops and the trees their fruit.
Isaiah 38:3 – “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with
wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your
eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Exodus 10:1-2 – Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and
the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these signs of mine among them that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and
how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord.”
Application:
- · Obedience is the key to blessing.
- · Like David, Hezekiah was truly faithful.
- · The memory of God’s redemptive acts is to be kept alive by reciting them to our descendants.
