Proverbs 15:9-11 – The Lord detests the way of the wicked, but
he loves those who pursue righteousness. Stern discipline awaits
anyone who leaves the path; the one who hates correction will die.
Death and Destruction lie open before the Lord—how much more do human hearts!
Proverbs
1:30-31 – Since
they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they
will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their
schemes.
Proverbs 2:12-15 – Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words
are perverse, who have left the straight paths to walk in dark
ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the
perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are
devious in their ways.
1 Samuel 16:7 – But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his
appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people
look at. People look at the outward appearance, but
the Lord looks at the heart.”
Application:
- · To refuse wisdom’s “advice” is to suffer the consequences of one’s own foolish “schemes”.
- · People love darkness instead of light.
- · The Lord is concerned with a person’s inner disposition and character.
