Proverbs 15:20-25 – A wise son brings joy to his father, but a
foolish man despises his mother. Folly brings joy to one who has no sense, but
whoever has understanding keeps a straight course. Plans fail for lack of
counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—and
how good is a timely word! The path of life leads upward for the prudent to
keep them from going down to the realm of the dead. The Lord tears down the house of the proud, but he
sets the widow’s boundary stones in place.
Isaiah
50:4 – The
Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to
know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens
my ear to listen like one being instructed.
Proverbs 2:18,21-22 – Surely her house leads down to death and her paths to the
spirits of the dead…For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless
will remain in it; but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be
torn from it.
Proverbs 23:10-11 – Do not move an ancient boundary stone or encroach on
the fields of the fatherless, for their Defender is strong; he will take up their case against you.
