Proverbs 14:21,30-31 –
It is a sin to despise one’s neighbor, but
blessed is the one who is kind to the needy…A heart at peace gives life to
the body, but envy rots the bones. Whoever oppresses the
poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy
honors God.
Genesis
1:26 – Then God said, “Let us make
mankind in our image, in
our likeness, so that they may rule over
the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over
the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move
along the ground.”
James 2:1 – My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord
Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.
Application:
- · Humans are the climax of God’s creative activity, and God has “crowned them with glory and honor” and made them rulers over the rest of His creation.
- · Sharing food, lending money and defending rights are ways one can show kindness. Such a person “honors God” and “will lack nothing”.
- · God does not show favoritism—nor should believers.
