My Advocate Is On High

Job 16:19 – Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high.

Job 42:2 – “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

Psalm 113:5-6 – Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?

Isaiah 58:4 – Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife, and in striking each other with wicked fists. You cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high.

Isaiah 66:1 – This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?

Mark 11:10 – “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”

Application:

• ·         Job finally sees that God and His purposes are supreme.
• ·         What grace, that He has covenanted to be “our” God.
• ·         Hypocritical religious activity is actually a hindrance to prayer.
• ·         Solomon realized that God could not be localized in a temple built by humans, magnificent though it may be.
• ·         “The coming kingdom of our father David” was the Messianic kingdom promised to David’s son.
