John 20:29-30 – Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you
have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Jesus
performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not
recorded in this book.
John
2:11 – What Jesus did here in Cana
of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
John 21:25 – Jesus did many other things
as well. If every one of them were written
down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books
that would be written.
John 1:7 – He came as a witness to
testify concerning that light, so that
through him all might believe.
Application:
- · Signs revealed Jesus’ glory and likely also pointed to the fullness of the salvation He came to effect.
- · Our historical knowledge of Jesus is at best partial, but we have been given all we need to know.
- · John emphasizes that the facts about Jesus are amply attested.
