Job
1:1 – In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
Ezekiel
14:19-20 – “Or if I
send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath on it through bloodshed, killing its people and
their animals, as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, they could save
neither son nor daughter. They would save only themselves by their
righteousness.

22:12 – “Do not lay a hand on the
boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me
your son, your only son.”
Job
2:3 – Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant
Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who
fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any
reason.”

Application:
- · “Blameless and upright” means spiritually and morally upright.
- · When God comes in judgment against a nation or people, they cannot count on another’s righteousness—not even that of their parents—to deliver them.
- · Abraham’s “faith was made complete by what he did”.
- · God cannot be stirred up to do things against His will.
- · “Blameless life” was a claim of moral integrity.
- · “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”.
- · “Fear” has the sense of reverential trust in God and commitment to His revealed will.
