Proverbs
3:12 – My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke,
because the Lord disciplines those he
loves, as a father the son he delights in.
Proverbs 13:24 – Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their
children is careful to discipline them.
Hebrews
12:5-6 – And have you completely forgotten this word
of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose
heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines
the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
Deuteronomy 8:3 – He humbled you,
causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which
neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you
that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes
from the mouth of the Lord.
