You Study The Scriptures Diligently

John 5:37-40 – And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form, nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

Luke 24:44 – He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

John 6:44 – “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Application:

• ·         Despite the Jewish leaders reverence for the very letter of Scripture, they did not recognize the one to whom Scripture bears supreme testimony.
• ·         God, through the Messiah, came to bring about the full and final redemption of His people and the full and final restoration of all things.
• ·         People do not come to Christ strictly on their own initiative; the Father draws them.
