John 3:30-34 – He must become greater; I must become
less.” The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the
earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he
has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. Whoever has accepted it
has certified that God is truthful. For the one whom God has
sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.
Luke
4:18-19 – “The
Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor. He has
sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of
sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
John 4:34 – “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.
