“Could someone have brought him food?” “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.

10:37-38 – Do not believe me unless
I do the works of my Father. But if I do them, even though you do not
believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father
is in me, and I in the Father.”

prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, but he comes so that the
world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has

his love.
Application:
- · John often mentions that Jesus depended on the Father and did the work the Father sent Him to do.
- · “The works of my Father” are the kind of works of compassion that the Father Himself does.
- · It was Jesus’ quality of life, not people’s inability to explain His marvels, that He spoke of.
- · Jesus had stressed the importance of His followers being obedient, and He set the example.
- · Obedience and love go together.
