Deuteronomy
4:26-27 – I call
the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you this day that you will
quickly perish from the land that you are crossing the
Jordan to possess. You will not live there long but will certainly be destroyed. The Lord will scatter you among the peoples,
and only a few of you will survive among the nations to
which the Lord will drive you.
Isaiah 1:2 – Hear me,
you heavens! Listen, earth! For the Lord has spoken: “I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me.
Deuteronomy 7:3-4 – Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their
daughters for your sons, for they will turn your children away from
following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly
destroy you.
1 Kings 8:46-49 – “When they sin against you—for there is no one who does not
sin—and you become angry with them and give them over to their enemies, who
take them captive to their
own lands, far away or near; and if they have a change of heart in the land
where they are held captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captors and say, ‘We have
sinned, we have done wrong, we have acted wickedly’; and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their enemies who took them captive,
and pray to you toward the land you gave their ancestors,
toward the city you have chosen and the temple I have built for your Name; then from heaven, your dwelling place, hear
their prayer and their plea, and uphold their cause.
