God Carried You

Deuteronomy 1:30-31 – The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.”

Exodus 14:14 – The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Psalm 28:9 – Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.

Ezekiel 34:11 – “‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.

Application:

  • ·         “The Lord will fight for you” was a necessary reminder that although Israel was “ready for battle” and “marching out boldly”, the victory would be won by God alone.
  • ·         God’s two primary acts by which he effects His people’s well-being: He saves from time to time as circumstances require; He blesses day by day to make their lives and labors fruitful.
  • ·         Having dealt with the faithless shepherds, the Lord committed Himself to shepherd His flock.
