Baal

Judges 2:13 – They abandoned the Lord and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth.

Psalm 68:3 – But the righteous shall be glad; they shall exult before God; they shall be jubilant with joy!

Psalm 93:1,5 – The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved…Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O Lord, forevermore.

Psalm 97:2 – Clouds and thick darkness are all around him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

Application:

  • ·         The righteous were Israel as the committed people of God in distinction from those opposed to the coming of God’s kingdom.
  • ·         The Lord reigns is the ultimate truth, and first article, in Israel’s creed.
  • ·         He whose indisputable rule has made the world secure has given His people life directives that are stable and reliable—and that they must honor.
  • ·         God rules by His power, but His reign is founded on righteousness and justice, which also the heavens proclaim.
