Proverbs 28:21-22 – To show partiality is not good—yet a person will do
wrong for a piece of bread. The stingy are eager to get rich
and are unaware that poverty awaits them.

18:5 – It is not
good to be partial to the wicked and so deprive the innocent of justice.
Ezekiel 13:19 – You have profaned me
among my people for a few handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By
lying to my people, who listen to lies, you have killed those who should not
have died and have spared those who should not live.
Proverbs 23:4 – Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust
your own cleverness.
Proverbs 11:25 – A generous person
will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
Application:
- · Favoritism of any kind was condemned in the law.
- · Involvement in religious matters of any kind for mere gain is consistently condemned in the Bible.
- · The desire to get rich can ruin a person physically and spiritually.
- · “Whoever sows generously will also reap generously”.
