Proverbs
8:18-21 – With me
are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. My
fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.
I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice,
bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their
treasuries full.
Proverbs 3:1-2 – My son, do not
forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and
prosperity.
Job 28:18 – Coral and jasper are not
worthy of mention; the price of wisdom is beyond rubies.
Psalm 5:8 – Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies—make
your way straight before me.
Psalm 1:6 – For the Lord watches over the way
of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
Application:
- · Normally the righteous are prosperous and happy, but sometimes it is the wicked who are strong and prosperous, temporary though that may be.
- · The “wife of noble character” is valued who fears the Lord and is therefore wise.
- · The psalmist prays that God will so direct him that his enemies will have no grounds for malicious accusations.
- · May the way down which you lead me be straight, level and smooth, free from obstacles and temptations.
