I Love

Proverbs 8:15-17 – By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth. I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

1 Samuel 2:30 – “Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that members of your family would minister before me forever.’ But now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.

John 14:21,23 – Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”… Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

Matthew 7:7 – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Proverbs 4:6 – Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.

Proverbs 2:1-5 – My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Application:

  • ·         Spiritual privileges bring responsibilities and obligations; they are not to be treated as irrevocable rights.
  • ·         Love for Christ and keeping His commands cannot be separated. The love of the Father cannot be separated from that of the Son.
  • ·         Love and obedience are linked.
  • ·         Persistent prayer is emphasized.
  • ·         To love wisdom is to prosper; to hate wisdom is to “love death”.
  • ·         “Knowledge of God” involves having a personal relationship with God and knowing what He is teaching.
  • ·         Wisdom enables one to face trials with “pure joy”. Wisdom is not just acquired information but practical insight with spiritual implications.
