Beginning

John 1:2-3 – He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

John 8:58 – “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”

Revelation 1:8 – “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

1 Corinthians 8:5-6 – For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

Application:

• ·         Jesus did not say “I was” but “I am”, expressing the eternity of His being and His oneness with the Father.
• ·         God is the beginning and the end.
• ·         God the Father is the ultimate source of all creation. God the Son is the dynamic one through whom, with the Father, all things came into existence.
