Samuel 17:46 – This day the Lord will deliver you
into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I
will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds
and the wild animals, and the whole world will
know that there is a God in Israel.
Joshua 4:24 – He did this so
that all the peoples of the earth might know that
the hand of the Lord is

Application:
- · The Lord’s revelation of His power to the Israelites was a public event that all the Canaanites heard about, just as they had heard of the crossing of the “Red Sea” and the defeat of Sihon and Og.
- · God is sovereign.
- · Moses insisted that there is only one God.
- · Naaman’s confession put to shame the Israelites who continued to waver in their opinion on whether Baal and the Lord were both gods or whether Yahweh alone was God.
