In Christ

Romans 12:4-5 - For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

1 Corinthians 10:17 - Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.

Colossians 3:15 - And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

Romans 6:11 - So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Application:

·         It is only in Jesus Christ that any unity in the church is possible. True unity is spiritually based.

·         The act of many believers partaking of one loaf of bread symbolizes the unity of the body of Christ, the church, which is nourished by the one bread of life.

·         The attitude of peace that Christ alone gives is to rule in all human relationships.

·         I am in Christ because I have died with Christ and have been raised to new life with Him.
