Nehemiah 9:7-8 - “You are the LORD God, who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and named him Abraham. You found his heart faithful to you, and you made a covenant with him to give to his descendants the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites and Girgashites. You have kept your promise because you are righteous.
Genesis 15:6 - Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
Ezra 9:15 - LORD, the God of Israel, you are righteous! We are left this day as a remnant. Here we are before you in our guilt, though because of it not one of us can stand in your presence.”
Romans 4:18 - Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
James 2:21 - Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
Application:
· Has God responded to my faith? Has He credited righteousness to me?
· Has God's holiness made me aware of my unworthiness?
· When all human hope fails (or knowing human hope will fail) do I place my hope in God?
· Does my faith produce deeds?
