Secret

1 Corinthians 2:7,9-10 - But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory…But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

Romans 16:25-27 - Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith—to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.

1 Timothy 3:16 - Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

Application:

· Do I believe in Him? Do I obey Him?
· Does Jesus Christ produce piety in me?
· Has God revealed His secret wisdom to me by His Spirit?

We Have Renounced Secret And Shameful Ways

2 Corinthians 4:2-3 - Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

2 Corinthians 2:17 - Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.

2 Corinthians 1:18 - But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.”

2 Corinthians 3:14,18 - But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away…And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Application:

· Do I speak before God with sincerity?
· Have I found the gospel message to be altogether true and free from ambiguity?
· Do I have the power to see how the new covenant has transcended and replaced the old covenant?
· Am I made a partaker of the glory of God by being gradually transformed into the likeness of Christ?
