Hebrews 8:1-5 - Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer. Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law. They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.”
Leviticus 16:34 - And this shall be a statute forever for you, that atonement may be made for the people of Israel once in the year because of all their sins.” And Aaron did as the Lord commanded Moses.
Hebrews 9:13-14 - For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
Hebrews 10:1 - For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near.
Hebrews 12:25 - See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven.
Exodus 25:40 – And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain.
Application:
· The heavenly sanctuary built by God corresponds to the Most Holy Place in Moses tabernacle
· Jesus was both the high priest and the sacrifice itself
· The earthly tabernacle was a lesser copy of the heavenly pattern shown to Moses
· The Mosaic law can never make a person perfect since it is but a shadow of the true form
· Since I have greater revelation, I have greater responsibility and therefore greater danger
· The tabernacle symbolically illustrated the only way sinners may approach a holy God and find forgiveness

God, And Not Man
Hosea 11:1,7-9 - “When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son…My people are determined to turn from me. Even though they call me God Most High, I will by no means exalt them. “How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I treat you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboyim? My heart is changed within me; all my compassion is aroused. I will not carry out my fierce anger, nor will I devastate Ephraim again. For I am God, and not a man—the Holy One among you. I will not come against their cities.
Hosea 6:4 - “What can I do with you, Ephraim? What can I do with you, Judah? Your love is like the morning mist, like the early dew that disappears.
Lamentations 3:22,32 - Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail…Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.
Jeremiah 30:11 - I am with you and will save you,’ declares the LORD. ‘Though I completely destroy all the nations among which I scatter you, I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you but only in due measure; I will not let you go entirely unpunished.’
Malachi 3:6 - “I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.
Numbers 23:19 - God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
1 Samuel 15:29 - He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.”
Application:
· Is my repentance superficial?
· The same God who judges also restores!!!
· Have I been unreliable? God will not be untrue to the love He has shown me!!!
· God is with me and will save me!!!
· Have I been unfaithful? Am I repentant? The Lord is faithful to His promises!!!
· God does not change!!!
· Am I constantly shifting and changing? God is not a man, thankfully!!!
· Am I one of God's elect because of His love?
· God has real emotions!!!

Not A Righteous Man On Earth
Ecclesiastes 7:17-20 - Do not be overwicked, and do not be a fool—why die before your time? It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. The man who fears God will avoid all extremes . Wisdom makes one wise man more powerful than ten rulers in a city. There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.
Proverbs 20:9 - Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?
Application:
· Am I reckless?
· Do I avoid legalism and do I regard authority? Do I lead a truly righteous and wise life?
· I do not do what is right and I sin!
· I am not without sin, but my sins have been forgiven! Therefore, I have clean hands and a pure heart!
