John 9:38-39 – Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and
he worshiped him. Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.”
John
12:47 – “If anyone hears my words
but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge
the world, but to save the world.
Luke 4:18-19 – “The
Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the
poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed
free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Application:
- · In a sense Jesus did not come for judgment, but His coming divides people, and this always brings a type of judgment.
- · “To judge” was not the purpose of Jesus’ coming, but judgment is the other side of salvation.
- · The man was giving Jesus the reverence due to God.
