2 Chronicles 20:4-6 –
The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord; indeed, they came from every town in
Judah to seek him. Then Jehoshaphat stood up in the assembly of Judah
and Jerusalem at the temple of the Lord in the front of the new courtyard and said: “Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in
your hand, and no one can withstand you.
Matthew 6:9 – “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Job
42:2 – “I know that
you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
Jeremiah 32:27 – “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is
anything too hard for me?
Application:
- · By His saving and judging acts in history He proves Himself holy.
- · Job finally sees that God and His purposes are supreme.
- · God is worthy of obedience because He is always faithful in fulfilling His promises.
