When He Comes In His Father's Glory

Mark 8:31,35-38 - And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and after three days rise again…For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? For what can a man give in return for his soul? Application: · Physical life may be saved by denying Jesus, but eternal life will be lost. · Do I love my life here and now? Do I concentrate on my own success? · Am I more concerned about fitting into and pleasing my own adulterous and sinful generation than about following and pleasing Christ? · The Son of Man is pictured as a heavenly figure who in the end times is entrusted by God with authority, glory and sovereign power. · Those who do not know God refers to those who refuse to recognize Him.
