But Thanks Be To God

Romans 6:17-18,22 - But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness…But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

2 Corinthians 2:14 - But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.

Romans 8:1-2 - Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Application:

·         The grace of God for every conceivable situation is adequate without fail, no matter how threatening and destructive it may seem to be. I am called to spiritual warfare and I am triumphantly led by God in Christ, and it is through me that God spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ.

·         I have changed masters. Whereas I was formerly a slave to sin, I have become a slave to righteousness.

·         Anyone who has been justified will surely give evidence of that fact by the presence of holiness in his life.

·         The law of the Spirit of life is the controlling power of the Holy Spirit, who is life-giving. The law of sin and death is the controlling power of sin, which ultimately produces death.
