Hosea 8:7 - “They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind. The stalk has no head; it will produce no flour. Were it to yield grain, foreigners would swallow it up.
Hosea 10:12-14 - Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you. But you have planted wickedness, you have reaped evil, you have eaten the fruit of deception. Because you have depended on your own strength and on your many warriors, the roar of battle will rise against your people, so that all your fortresses will be devastated—as Shalman devastated Beth Arbel on the day of battle, when mothers were dashed to the ground with their children.
Hosea 2:9 - “Therefore I will take away my grain when it ripens, and my new wine when it is ready. I will take back my wool and my linen, intended to cover her naked body.
Application:
· Do I sow the wind of idolatry? Do I trust in the wrong things?
· Do I do what is right? Am I blessed by God? Am I repentant? Am I productive and faithful? Am I loyal to Him?
· Am I living a lie? Do I live by lies?
· Am I blindly stubborn in the face of God's goodness? Do I know the source of my blessings?
