Valley of Achor

Hosea 2:14-15 - “Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will respond as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt.

Exodus 15:11 - Who among the gods is like you, LORD? Who is like you—majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?

Jeremiah 2:2 - “Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem: “This is what the LORD says: “‘I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the wilderness, through a land not sown.

Joshua 7:9,15 - The Canaanites and the other people of the country will hear about this and they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth. What then will you do for your own great name?”… Whoever is caught with the devoted things shall be destroyed by fire, along with all that belongs to him. He has violated the covenant of the LORD and has done an outrageous thing in Israel!’”

Application:

· Bringing me to repentance is a reason for punishment in my life.
· There is no one like the Lord. There is none holy like the Lord. None. God is our Rock.
· Am I loyal, faithful and committed to the Lord?
· Are my probing questions of God misdirected?
· Do I do willful, outrageous things that defile the church and those closest to me?
