Life

Amos 2:10,12-3:2 - I brought you up out of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness to give you the land of the Amorites… “But you made the Nazirites drink wine and commanded the prophets not to prophesy. “Now then, I will crush you as a cart crushes when loaded with grain. The swift will not escape, the strong will not muster their strength, and the warrior will not save his life. The archer will not stand his ground, the fleet-footed soldier will not get away, and the horseman will not save his life. Even the bravest warriors will flee naked on that day,” declares the LORD. Hear this word, people of Israel, the word the LORD has spoken against you—against the whole family I brought up out of Egypt: “You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your sins.”

Ecclesiastes 9:11 - I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.

Application:

· Do I show utter disdain for God's faithful servants? Am I calloused and insensitive to God's working among His servants?
· Success is uncertain--I do not ultimately control events!!!
· Do God's great blessings to me in the past add to my guilt? Does God recall them to indict me?
