Ephesians 1:9-10 - And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 3:22-24 - This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
John 1:12-13 - Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
Romans 8:14 - For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Conclusions:
- "Time had fully come" is the time set by God for His children to become adult sons and heirs
- "Born of a woman" shows that Christ was truly human
- "Born under law" means subject to the Jewish law
- Paul uses a significant term in Ephesians 1:10 that not only has the idea of leadership but also was often used of adding up a column of figures
- A contemporary way of putting it might be to say that in a world of confusion, where things do not add up or make sense, we look forward to the time when everything will be brought into meaningful relationship under the headship of Christ
- God so loved the world is the great truth that motivated God's plan of salvation
- The world is all people on earth--or perhaps all creation
- Although believers are also called sons of God, Jesus is God's Son in a unique sense
